Ta-Sean C. Murdock is a children's book author, nonprofit founder, and community leader whose life is rooted in purpose and action. With a passion for empowering youth and uplifting underserved communities, Ta-Sean uses his voice, vision, and lived experience to spark transformation — not just in words, but in real, measurable impact.
​
A proud native of Albany, New York, Ta-Sean has dedicated his life to helping young people see beyond the limits of their environment. Through his inspiring children’s books — including I Am Brave and Bright and I Can and I Will — he encourages children to believe in their value, speak their truth, and rise into leadership. But storytelling is only one part of his mission.
​
As the founder of One Team One Dream of the Capital District, Inc., and multiple youth-focused initiatives, Ta-Sean leads with a heart for justice and a drive to create safe spaces where children and families can grow, learn, and thrive. From launching youth literacy campaigns like Pages Forward, to organizing mentorship programs, food distributions, and back-to-school drives, his work is hands-on, grassroots, and deeply personal.

Ta-Sean also serves as a tireless advocate for equity and opportunity. Whether speaking at rallies, mentoring justice-involved youth, or working with local leaders on community investment strategies, he brings authenticity and accountability to every space he enters. He doesn’t just call for change — he works daily to build it.

Ta-Sean’s philosophy is simple: “Lead with love. Move with purpose. Work until something changes.” He believes that every child deserves to feel seen, every voice deserves to be heard, and every community deserves to be lifted.
